Overview of the school
The Elias Meyer Free School Talmud and Torah, which is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, Delhi (ICSE) and the Indian School Certificate Examination Delhi (ISC). The medium of Instruction is English, originally established as a Jewish Boys and Girls school in 1881, holds a significant place in Kolkata's educational history. Over the years, it underwent several transformations, culminating in its leadership under Elias Meyer and Mr. Arakie in 1909. Under their guidance, the school experienced remarkable growth, supported by a thriving student population. Following Meyer's passing, his widow ensured the school's continuity by establishing a trust fund, leading to its renaming as The Elias Meyer Boy's School and Talmud Torah.
